Admission to Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology B.E./B.Tech courses is mostly on the basis of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). Direct admission without WBJEE is not usually possible for regular seats. But in case of some vacant seats remaining after WBJEE counseling rounds, decentralized counseling (mop-up round) may be conducted by the college for domiciled candidates of West Bengal, yet even in that case, a valid WBJEE merit rank is mandatory. There is no such provision for admission based only on Class 12 marks or other national examinations like JEE Main for normal intake.

Rajeev Gandhi College of Management, Navi Mumbai is definitively a private college .It's also interesting to note the college's relatively recent establishment in 2009 and its "A+" NAAC accreditation. This college was established in 2009 under the leadership of a private individual/trust, as indicated by the mention of "Hon'ble V. M. Jadhav Sir, Chairman of our JNIESTR Trust" on the college's "About Us" page. Private colleges are typically founded and managed by non-governmental organizations, trusts, or societies.
