Yes. You can choose the GRE at Home option. At the time of registration. It is the same General Test but taken on your own computer with a remote proctor.

Prometric centres are official venues offering high quality keyboards and noise-cancelling headphones.

Private centres are third-party locations. Often in colleges. Private centres have more available slots. Prometric centres provide a more professional, quiet, and reliable environment for your exam.

Yes, for taking the GRE at a test center in India, a valid passport is generally the primary and most highly recommended form of identification. If you carry a photocopied document, it is not acceptable. It should be in physical form, and a digital copy on your phone is not acceptable.

You have go to the ETS website. Make an account first. Click Register. Choose General Test. Look at the map for test centers. Pick one near your house. Dont pick a far one. Traveling makes you tired.

There are some pros and cons of appearing test at home or at centre. The difference between a home test and GRE test center is mentioned in the table below.

You need to arrange the hardware and software required for the exam. Hardware like Computer/Laptop, Uninterrupted Internet Connection and more)

You'll get all things here and you don't need to arrange anything for your exam.

You can appear in the test with the home comfort. No need to travel.

You need to visit the center located in your the nearest city.

You need to sit at a separate place to avoid noise

The exam environment will help you stay focused.

Strict scrutinize in-person proctoring

There will be more than 10 students in a room under one on-site proctor.

Here are the things you should carry with you at the exam centre of GRE.

  • Your valid photo ID card, approved by the government. Keep the original ID card with you, a soft copy or photocopy of the ID card is not acceptable. (Recommend ID- Your Valid Passport)
  • Own water bottle
  • A mask (If required at that time).

Note that, no expensive item or electronic device will be allowed inside the centre. You can explore some more exam day tips for GRE.
