GNDU offers admission as per notification issued by Punjab Government. The University offers admission to its UG and PG courses on the basis of both merit and entrance-based. Admission to most of the courses is based on candidates performance in the Hence, the university does not offer direct admission. GNDU admission process began with online registrations from May 8. The last date to apply varied from one course to another. The last date to apply for MBA programmes was Jul 11. The total tuition fee for UG Diploma programmes offered at GNDU main and other campuses ranges between INR 3,620 - INR 47,660. The total course fee will include more fee components such as the security deposit, enrolment fee, etc. This fee is as per an unofficial source. Hence, the actual fee may vary. Candidates seeking admission to GNDU UG Diploma programme must meet the eligibility criteria. Hence, the applicant should be a Class 12 or equivalent pass from a recognised board. The university admits candidates based on their performance in the last qualifying examination. Applications are accepted by the university via online mode. This course is included under the four-year BSc course and candidates exiting the course after two-year are awarded with UG Diploma.

This state university is ranked 48 under the university category in the NIRF rankings 2023. It also provide placement support to the students.  The highest package and average package stood at INR 17.40 LPA and INR 6.20 LPA, respectively.
