Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training offers B Tech in only one specialisation, i.e. Marine Engineering. However, it offers lateral B Tech in Marine Engineering with Lateral Entry as well. At HIMT College, B Tech in Marine Engineering is one of the most demanded and prominent course due to its high significance in Maritime knowledge and fieldwork. Therefore, B Tech in Maritime Engineering is the best specialisation in B Tech from HIMT.

Candidates who want to take admission to BTech in HIMT College first need to appear in the IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test). It is a national-level common entrance test for admission to BTech and various courses at IMU campuses and affiliated colleges by the Indian Maritime University.

To avail this you have to score above 95% in PCM at 12th standard examination; or those who are in the top 100 places of IMU CET List can avail this
- Amount- Rs. 25000 /-

No, you can't get HIMT College (Hindustan Institude of Maritime Training) for B.Tech with 56% in 12th class because eligibility criteria for B.Tech in this college is:
- 10+2 with 60% aggregate
- Accepting Exams: TNEA, CBSE 12th, Tamilnadu 12th

Yes, Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, HIMT is more expensive than VIT Chennai. The fee for B Tech at Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training is Rs 13 Lakhs for four years where as VIT Chennai offers B Tech at a total fees of around Rs 7 Lakhs and 80 Thousands. There is a major difference between the fees of both colleges. Considering other factors like location, infrastructure and cost of living, HIMT is more expensive than VIT Chennai.
