Heritage Institute of Technology has been established by KBT- Kalyan Bharti Trust. The trust started the institute with the idea of providing quality education as per the global standards in the region. The trust runs five other schools and institutes other than the Heritage Institute of Technology. Thus the institute is run and managed by the trust and is not a public institution.
