 The nerve center for all academic activities of the Institute is the Central Library of the Kolkata Heritage Institute of Technology, HITK. It is located in a central building, with an area of approximately 20,000 square meters. The library has a central airconditioning system, which is equipped with computers and communication networks that allow it to seat 250 readers. It's equipped with security cameras, an antitheft solution system, and WiFI connectivity. The library is computerised by the software LIBSYS Library Management, making use of barcode technology. The OPACWEBOPAC facilities are available on the campus network as well as in surrounding areas. It's partly computerised and has been one of West Bengal's most technologically advanced engineering colleges library. The HITK Library is made up of various departments, and also a fully equipped digital library.
