Candidates are advised to carefully check the HP LEET syllabus before starting the preparation process. Through the HP LEET syllabus, the candidates will be able to know the subjects, topics and units that the candidates will have to study for the entrance examination. By knowing the syllabus beforehand, the candidates will be able to prepare their study plan to accomodate the completion of the syllabus and inclusion of ample revision. 

Candidates will also have to attempt the General Knowledge section in the HP LEET paper. Out of the total 25 questions, 17 will be state-level, 5 national-level and 3 international level questions. All candidates will have to qualify HP LEET for admissions into the second year in the Diploma courses offered by the participating insitutes of the state. As per the official HP LEET exam pattern, the question paper will consist of objective multiple-choice questions. The General Knowledge category will consist of 17 state-level, 5 national-level and 3 international level questions. A total of 100 objective multiple-choice questions have to be attempted by the candidates within 2 hours.

HP LEET (Himachal Pradesh Lateral Entry Entrance Test) is conducted annually by the authorities of Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board to select eligible candidates for admission into the second year in the Diploma courses offered by the participating Government and Private colleges of Himachal Pradesh.
