BRAOU admission for a two-year postgraduate MA course is open to all the citizens of India who hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an Indian University which is recognised by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates seeking admission to PhD course at Welingkar Mumbai must have a master's degree with at least 55% aggregate (or equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed) or MPhil with at least 55% aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale is required to apply for the PhD course. Final admission to PhD is based on PhD Entrance Test (PET) score conducted by the University of Mumbai followed by a personal interview conducted by the research centre.

Visva Bharati University offers MA programme across 27 specialisations via its Bhasha- Bhavana (Institute of Languages, Literature and Culture), Vidya Bhavana (Institute of Humanities & Social Sciences), Palli Samgathana Vibhaga (Institute of Rural Reconstruction) and Vinaya Bhavana (Institute of Education). Admission to all these is subject to merit in the last qualifying exams, i.e. UG degree except for ‘Comparative Literature’ and ‘Education’ specialisation.
