For a majority of PG courses offered by Gauhati University departments, students must have at least 45% aggregate in their UG course to become eligible.

The University offers over 25 regular postgraduate and dual degree programmes along with nine undergraduate programmes. Yes, of course, you are eligible to apply for MA in Hindi after completing BA in English. But, most of the universities give first preference to the candidates who have completed their graduation in Hindi subject.

Yes, a Ph.D. from IGNOU is considered valid by UGC. This is because, despite being an open university, IGNOU offers a Ph.D. in regular and part-time modes. A Ph.D. is considered valid only if it is pursued in regular or part-time mode at a recognised university. The IGNOU is recognised by the UGC and offers PhDs in regular and part-time modes, so it is valid. Also, IGNOU requires you to pass an entrance exam or NET to apply for admission to the Ph.D. course. Therefore, after getting your Ph.D. from IGNOU you can apply for a job like a lectureship.
