With a 5.5 score, you can apply for European countries such as Poland, Greece, etc. where you can get an IELTS waiver, and the UK. Further, countries like New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, and Dubai includes colleges that accept 5.5 IELTS band score.

Earlier, if a test taker was unable to get the targeted score in any module of IELTS then he/she was required to appear for the entire exam again. But as per a recent update, a 'One Skill Retake' provision will be provided where test takers will be allowed to appear only for the module in which they scored less.
