IHM Gangtok - Institute of Hotel Management Eligibility

Unless the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) offers a particular pathway or conversion course, a sociology honours graduate with a BE (Bachelor of Engineering) degree is probably not directly eligible for an M.Sc. (Master of Science) programme in Hotel Management or any related field.  A bachelor's degree in a related field, like hospitality and hotel administration, is required for the majority of IHM M.Sc. programs.

To be eligible for Bsc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration at IHM Silvassa:

- Age: 17+ years

- Qualification: 10+2 with English

- Minimum marks: Pass in English subject

- Appear for NCHMCT JEE exam

Minimum Qualification

• 10+2 Requirement: Must have passed the 10+2 examination (or its equivalent) with English as a compulsory subject.
• Provisional Admission: Students appearing for the 10+2 exam can apply provisionally. Admission will be canceled if proof of passing is not submitted during counseling.
• Verification: Admission is subject to verification of original documents during the counseling and admission process. If false information is discovered later, admission will be canceled, and fees will be forfeited.

Age Limit

• No Maximum Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for admission.

• Duration: 1.5 years (1 year of study at the institute followed by 6 months of industrial training in a hotel or relevant sector).
• Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have a pass certificate from the 10+2 examination or equivalent (Senior Secondary).
• Age Limit:
  • Maximum age of 25 years for General/OBC/PWD categories.
  • Maximum age of 28 years for SC/ST categories.
  • The age is calculated as of the last date for submitting the application.

The eligibility criteria for admission at IHM silvassa are: 

1) 12th or equivalent class

2) Pass the NCHMCT JEE

The eligibility is generally the students has to complete intermediate or equivalent like iti or Polytechnic etc.Because it has more exposure, the students must be fluent in English
