The rank you would need to get admission to the courses offered would depend entirely on which category you belong to and which program you are interested in. As per IIIT Guwahati's last round data, the closing cutoff for various courses ranged between 28255 and 44592 for the General AI category candidates. The toughest specialisation out of all was B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, with the last-round closing rank of 28255 for the General AI category candidates. According to the IIIT Guwahati JoSAA Round 6 cutoff in 2023, the closing ranks for all BTech specializations ranged between 25665 and 42789. The most competitive specialisation has been Computer Science and Engineering with a closing rank of 25665 , followed by Electronics and Communication Engineering with 42789rank.
However, Computer Science and Engineering, when compared to the previous year's cutoff, has revealed a decline in the level of competition as the cutoff for 2022 was 23560.
