No, it is not mandatory, but it's recommended.  The clubs make up a huge chunk of a student's “college experience.” They aren't just about events, rather they're where you meet people outside your course and learn random but useful skills.

Besides, there is an array of clubs to choose from with something for everyone. From journalism, law, marketing, HR, finance to dance, design, sports, movies and books.

At IILM University, Gurugram, a typical class usually has around 40 to 60 students, which allows for a more interactive and personalized learning environment. The smaller class size makes it easier for faculty to give individual attention, encourage participation, and support collaborative projects, while still fostering diverse peer interactions. Some specialised or elective courses may have even fewer students, creating an even more focused and discussion-friendly setting.

So easy. You'll meet people during orientation, in class, at workshops, while eating lunch, at club meetings—everywhere. Everyone's a little nervous at first, but once you start sharing chai or coffee and inside jokes, bonds form naturally. The people you randomly sat next to on Day 1 can turn into one of your the closest friends.

The energy. You've got events, fests, open mics, food fests, sports tournaments—there's always something happening. From the Annual I-fest to Dandiya Nights.

The student clubs are really active and everyone finds their space—whether you're into photography, poetry, music, drama, or even finance. These clubs also put up stalls or exhibitions and organise competitions and workshops for all to see/ participate in.
