Earlier, there was no IIM in Mumbai. But now NITIE Mumbai has been renamed to IIM Mumbai. The institute has been ranked 15 under 'Management' category by the NIRF in 2025. NITIE has always been at par with IIMs when it comes to Management category rankings. As per the report by Hindustan Times "As per the gazette published by the Ministry of Law and Justice, NITIE will continue to function until a new board is constituted for IIM under this act. After the constitution of a new board under this act, the old board will dissolve."

For PGDIM course admission, candidates must have satisfy the eligibility criteria and appear for the CAT entrance exam. Indian candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) process based on their valid CAT scores subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria. On the other hand, international candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion and personal interview process based on GMAT scores, IELTS/ TOEFL (applicable for foreign candidates) and 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.

GATE-qualified candidates are entitled to Teaching Assistantship (at present INR 12,400 per month) and contingency expenditure as per rules. In addition to this,  SC/ST candidates are offered financial assistance as per the scheme of Govt. of India.

Yes, IIM Mumbai offers hostel facilities to students. PGDIM, PGDIE, PGDSM are residential programmes and staying in the hostel helps develop their socio-cultural horizons. The hostels are really one of the best in the country. All the rooms at IIM Mumbai are well furnished single occupancy with attached bathrooms.

EWS certificates really help in IIMs. EWS stands for Economically Weaker Section. They're for folks who can get special spots in government jobs and schools. In IIMs, 10% seats are set aside for EWS folks.

If you have an EWS certificate, you might get a call from IIMs even if your CAT score is a bit lower than general category folks. Like, say a general category person with a 99 percentile in CAT might not get a call from IIM C, but an EWS student with the same score could totally get a call.

The IIM Sirmaur CAT cutoff 2024 will not be released on a public platform and will only be accessible for students who appeared for the entrance exam. The institute released the qualifying CAT percentile, wherein  the overall percentile is 95 and the section cutoff percentile is 70 for the General AI category students. The final cutoff is always higher than the qualifying cutoff. So,  considering the qualifying cutoff, it is expected that CAT final cutoff will range between 92 to 95 for the General category students.
