Failing in IIM Sirmaur is quite difficult for a student because 50%-60% marks are based on the assignments and class participation which meets the minimum marks required to pass. But even if someone fails in any of his internal examination, he gets a chance to undo that and score better to pass the examination. In order to have a smooth college life, one should just attend all classes regularly and pay a little attention to what is going on in the class and he'll pass all his examinations easily.

At IIM Sirmaur, students are not marked in CGPA instead they are marked with grades like A, B, C, D etc. Each grade has three levels of marking, for example we do not only have A but we have A+, A and A- to grade the students with. This pattern is followed for A, B, C and D and apart from them we have one more grade for Fail which is F. All the students are marked whithin this criteria with A+ being the highest and D- being the lowest and F for those who fails

It might sometime happen that a student misses his internal examination. But this is not to worry about, like any other institution IIM Sirmaur also gives a facility of re-examination. To be precise after missing an internal exam, the student can either be given an assignment or he can be asked to appear for a re-test to pass that examination and get marked for it. This way, even if someone doesn't appear for their exam for some reason, they won't directly be marked failed but will be given a chance to prove themselves.

IIM Sirmaur ofcourse have the advantage of the geographical beauty. Other than this they offer fancy recreational areas where students can hangout, play a few games, have conversations. The college also offers advanced sports complexes to practice sport. For fitness enthusiasts there is a gym with all the necessary equipments and machines. The college also has a yoga centre for people who like to meditate or are into yoga. These facilities provided by the college differentiates it from others.

IIM Sirmaur has hostel facility but they don't have enough hostel rooms for full occupency. Though, new hostel buildings are under construction to overcome this short coming. They offer a double sharing room where students get a common room with a TV installed. They have pantry and washing machines on each floor of the hostel building. The housekeeping is regular and comes everyday. They have water coolers and water purifiers on all floors. 

The process of getting into IIM Sirmaur is through the CAT examination and hence there are no reservation criteria exclusively. The usual reservation criteria that are associated with the CAT examination are the only ones that the college follows. These reservations include the SC, ST, OBC, etc. On the contrary there can be some other advantages if you belong to the same state or if you are a girl child etc. There are no other reservations apart from what the Indian Government has prescribed.

IIM Sirmaur is a young IIM that is offering many attractive courses for MBA and PhD enthusiasts. We cannot expect the same as we do from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Chennai. These are very old institutions and have worked for years to provide the result they showing now. Even though IIM Sirmaur is new, it is performing very good. It is providing students exposure to big companies and giving them an opportunity to get a job in one of those with high annual packages. A student is getting a fair return which makes IIM Sirmaur a good option to consider for studies.

IIM Sirmaur offers many accademic courses like MBA and PhD etc. Job opportunities comes to students according to what field of study they have chosen. Usually the pre placement drive starts in the month of September and by the month of February the students are placed via the college. Some of the huge recruiters of the college includes Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, BYJU's, HCL, IDBI Capital, etc. The average package a student gets is of 14.45 LPA with the highest package of 64.12 LPA.

IIM Sirmaur has its own campus hostels with all the facilities for the students. They have rooms on double sharing basis and have a washing machine and pantry setup on each floor of the hostel building. The college hostel fees would cost around 1.2 Lacs per year. The college is also building new hostels for students to meet full occupancy. Apart from that, there are many other P.G. and Hostels around the college with all the facilities like laundry, food, and clean drinking water that one can consider. There are many variety of accommodation facility ranging from low to high prices that one can choose according to their will.
