With a rank of 540 in the JEE Advanced exam, you are guaranteed a spot at IIT Palakkad and can easily secure admission to most engineering programs. Looking at last year's cutoff ranks for different courses at IIT Palakkad, here's what they were:

- Computer Science and Engineering: The cutoff was around 6199.
- Data Science and Engineering: The cutoff was around 8084.
- Electrical Engineering: The cutoff was about 9766.

Since your rank is 540, which is much lower than these cutoffs, you should be able to get into popular programs like Computer Science and Data Science. IIT JAM Biotechnology entrance examination is taken by various top colleges in India for admissions to Post Graduate courses like M.Sc. Biotechnology or equivalent. The following IITs admit students through this exam; IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati. Apart from the IITs, other north Indian Tech institutes and few others including NIT Warangal and NIT Calicut recognize JAM scores.
