Below is eligibility criteria required by candidates for filling out IIT JAM 2026 Counselling application form:
• Candidates should have passed an undergraduate degree or should be currently studying in their final year of undergraduate programme.
• Candidates promoted without a marksheet should produce a certificate stating the subjects studied in that semester/year duly signed by the Head of the Institute.
• Foreign nationals with Indian degree are eligible to apply, subject to policy of the Admitting Institute

IIT Bombay offers admission to various PG courses on the various exams. MSc course is offered through IIT JAM. For the General All India category students, the last round closing ranks were between 17 and 40.
IIT Bombay GATE COAP cutoff 2024 were between scores 325 and 650, for the General AI category candidates.
For admission to MBA, candidate must have a valid score in CAT. For the General AI category, the overall cutoff sores for the same was 90.

The IIT JAM exam is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted online at designated exam centers, not at home. One cannot take the IIT JAM exam from home. One will needs to bring their admit card to the exam hall, one can only give exam at the center which is assigned.

In order to pursue an MSc Physics at IIT Delhi or any other IIT you typically need a background in Physics and Mahematics during your UG studies.
You generally cannot get admission to MSc. Physics in IIT's without having studied Mathematics during your BSc. It is a vital requirements for the eligibility for the IIT JAM exam and the MSc. Physics program.

The IIT JAM exam allows B.Pharmacy degree holders to take the entrance examination. The minimum requirement to qualify for the IIT JAM examination is a bachelor's degree combined with a minimum 55% average or 5.5/10 CGPA for students from the general category. The recognition of B.Pharmacy as a bachelor's degree gives you permission to participate in the examination process. Yearly IIT JAM tests require payment of INR 2,100 for two test paper candidates and INR 1,050 for single test paper applicants. According to information found on the official IIT JAM 2025 website, the tie-breaking criteria are as follows, in this order:
- Lower negative marks.
- NAT (Numerical Answer Type) marks.
- MSQ (Multiple Select Question) marks.
- score in 2 marks questions.
- then score in 2 marks NAT.
- If the tie still persists, the candidate's Date of Birth (DOB) is considered, with the older candidate receiving the higher rank.
