Hello! These are two different topics and you want to know how they are from two different institutes too one is NIT and the other is IIT. There is a general perception that the academic and the placements are better in IIT as compared with NIT. This may be true definitely about placements because only a selected lot who clear JEE Mains are allowed to apply for JEE advanced and from here only limited students can get admitted to one of the IITs. Yes, you can give the IIT JAM exam. All what anyone needs to give IIT JAM exam is to have Bachelor's degree or in the final year.

Hi. IIT Kanpur is best for it.
It is offered by department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur has a center called The Center for Robotics, established in 1989 through a grant of 5 million from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, dedicated to Robotics. It offers Masters degree in Robotics Engineering (BE or B.Tech) as well.

Yes you have chance to get into some IITs but you will not get top branches. You will get least ranked branches. Check in predictors provided in Shiksha to get approximate idea.I have listed some colleges and branches you are eligible . But you need to check the gender based reservation also. You will not get home State quota reservations in IITs so no need to check that.

NITs and IITs provide fee waiver depending on your family annual income. Score best and you will receive various scholarships and you may apply for education loans also. After joining the NIT or IIT you will be able to see many types of scholarships based on your study and income.
Your options are
While joining in the college they'll ask about the income
of your parents. At that time of your income is less than 1 lakh per annum then you will be able to study in those institutes for free of cost for study only by submitting income certificate from respected issuing authority.
