Getting into IMS Unison University can be tough or easy but requires consistent effort on the part of candidates as admissions do not require competitive entrance exams for most courses. IMS Unison University currently has a wide fee range of between INR 63,000 and INR 8,50,000 total for its different courses with certain courses such as MBA being around INR 3.8 Lakhs to INR 4.14 Lakhs annually while the BBA LLB course has a fee requirement of around INR 1.7 Lakhs to INR 2.18 Lakhs annually.

To be eligible for admissions to the BBA LLB programme at IMS Unison University students must meet the eligibility of passing Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate score of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC Category of Uttarakhand). Candidate must also be in the below 20 age range to be considered for admissions.

Candidates need to first meet the eligibility conditions specified by the university. IMS Unison University considers the merit of the candidates for admission. Aspirants who have completed Class 12 are eligible to apply for the BA (Hons) course. Candidates need to pass Class 12 with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST/ Uttarakhand OBC) and English subject to apply for BA (Hons). For admission, the university also conducts a PI round for candidates shortlisted based on the merit in the last qualifying exam.

The admission process for the BCom course at IMS University involves candidates following the basic eligibility criteria that state applicants must qualify for their Class 12 with at least an aggregate of 45% and for SC, ST and OBC students the university provides 5% relaxation. The official website of the university does not mention any accepted entrance examination scores. Candidates are selected based on their merit.

IMS Unison University has been ranked favourably by many ranking bodies such as Education World India Higher Education Rankings (2025-26) which placed the university as the top university of Uttarakhand and No. 2 in India. While Times B-School had the university placed 5th among BBA Institutes in terms of placements in India.

IMS Unison University usually ranks under the categories of either its courses of BBA, Law and Accounting & Commerce with the other categories being either as a B-School or in the Universities category.
