IIST Indore application process is conducted in online mode. The step-wise process is provided below:

1. Open the university official website.
2. Register with basic details and generate login credentials.
3. Download the application and print out the document.
4. Pay the application fee and download the pay slip
5. Fill the application form with all the relevant details and attach the pay slip along with the two copies of the online bank challan with the application form.
6. Send the duly filled application form either through post or submit it in person at the concerned department at Indore Institute of Science and Technology.

IIST Indore offers admission primarily on the basis of the scores obtained in the national level entrance exams including JEE Main, MPPET, and GATE. To get admission to IIST Indore, candidates must fulfil the course-specific eligibility. Candidates can apply to the desired course online on the institute's website.

There are 54 seats in M.E. programme of IIST Indore. There are 18 seats available in each M.E. specialisations. Candidates are offered seat in M.E. based on their GATE scores. Aspirants need to participate in DTE MP Counselling to get a seat in M.E. programme.

Candidates must pass bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for reserved category) to apply for M.E. at Indore Institute of Science and Technology. Aspirants must also have GATE scores for admission to M.E. programme.

Candidates are shortlisted for BTech course at IIST Indore based on their JEE Main scores. Applicants need to participate in DTE MP Counselling with their JEE scores. The seats are allotted to candidates in three phases during the counselling.
