MIT Institute of Design conducts Design Aptitude Test (DAT) as an entrance exam. To be eligible for this exam, you need to have cleared your 10+2 from a recognized board of education like HSC, CBSC, ICSE, IB in any stream. The DAT exam contains questions on subjects such as Drawing and Sketching, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Candidates shortlisted in MITID-DAT then need to appear for the studio test followed by the personal interview round. You can find more information about the exam here:

Of course, you can prepare at home. There are number of books available in the market for CEED and also, you can download the previous years question papers from its website.
