Who can participate in UCEED counseling?

The counseling process for UCEED will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process. Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati, it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before they apply. This is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. UCEED Participating Institutes 2027 - There are seven participating institutes of UCEED 2027. The participating institutes offer B.Des courses and have an intake of 245 seats. Admission to the course is strictly based on UCEED 2027 merit ranks.

The list of candidates for B.Des admissions for the academic year 2027- 2028 will be released for IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. A provisional seat allotment letter will be available for download in the candidate’s login after the seat acceptance fee has been successfully paid by those allotted a seat.

UCEED 2027 - Eligibility Criteria for admission

IIT Bombay will outline the eligibility criteria of UCEED on its admission portal - uceed.iitb.ac.in. The eligibility criteria pertain to the age limit, number of attempts, academic qualification, etc., that candidates need to meet for admission. If a candidate fails to meet these conditions, he or she will be disqualified.

UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Age limit - OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category candidates need to have been born on or after October 1, 2002. SC, ST or PwD category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1997.
UCEED 2027 qualification - The candidate must have qualified for UCEED 2027 and obtained a merit rank.
Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all five subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2026 or 2027. Candidates who appeared in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025 or earlier are not eligible for admission.

UCEED 2027 - JOINT Seat Allocation Process

The counseling for UCEED 2027 participating colleges is conducted by IIT Bombay in online mode as a Joint Seat Allotment process. Candidates who have qualified UCEED 2027 and will be assigned a merit rank in the design entrance exam can participate in the counseling process. Application to B. Q: Will there be a baggage counter at UCEED exam centre?

IIT Bombay usually doesn't make any arrangements like baggage counters. So, it is a good idea for candidates not be bring any unnecessary stuff with them to the exam centre. Also, if the candidate has any doubts, he or she must go through the exam-day guidelines published by exam officials to check if any special arrangements are being made. Since it is unlikely that there will be a baggage counter, the candidate can not afford to bring valuable items and leave it unattended outside the exam hall. It is because if any valuable item is lost, IIT Bombay will not take any responsibility.

Q: When will the UCEED 2027 syllabus be released?

IIT Bombay will release syllabus for UCEED 2027 on October 01, 2026. So, if you are planning to appear in UCEED 2027 exam, you must follow the official syllabus.

UCEED syllabus contains topics that candidates need to prepare for the national-level design entrance exam. As per the UCEED syllabus, Part A has 57 questions and Part B includes two questions.
