Candidates securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST/PwD) in: 

  • Any UG programme of a minimum of three years with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects
    OR
  • BCA/B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognised University/Institution are eligible to appear for NIMCET.

No, one month is not sufficient for NIMCET preparation. You would need to study an extensive syllabus that would need time as well as a lot of effort. However, if you are a BCA student that your college education might help you in your preparation, since the topics of NIMCET and BCA are similar, you would need to brush up on your knowledge. It is recommended to solve previous year NIMCET question papers to make yourself acquainted with the NIMCET exam.

The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are the conducting authorities of the NIMCET. Every year, an NIT conducts the exam on a rotational basis. In 2025, the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, conducted the exam.

If you find any discrepancy in the NIMCET answer keys, you can raise objections online at nimcet.admissions.nic.in. You would need to submit your objections with supporting proof. For every objection, INR 500 has to be paid online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. Authorities will not accept the objections if the fee is not paid.
