Yes. Every year the selected students are required to do a summer research project with a scientist or research institute. The students are given extra INR 20,000 to do summer project.

No. This scholarship is given only to those students who are enrolled in basic and natural Science courses like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, etc. Students who are enrolled in Arts, Commerce, Engineering and other professional courses are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selected candidates can receive the scholarship for up to 5 years or till their Science course is completed, whichever comes first. Students who are selected for the INSPIR scholarship are given INR 80000 per year. 

Selected students get INR 80,000 per year. Out of this, INR 5,000 per month comes as scholarship and INR 20,000 is given for summer research work. Students can check the details related to it on this page.

Students who are in the top 1% in Class 12 board and have entrolled in BSc, BS or Integrated MSc in basic science can apply for the INSPIRE scholarship. Some students with good ranks in JEE Advanced or NEET are also eligible to apply.

Every year, a total of 50,000 students are selected for the INSPIRE Scholarship. Candidates selected for the INSPIRE scholarship are awarded 80,000 annually to pursue their course.

After the announcement of INSPIRE Scholarship result 2026, the students who have applied for the scholarship should firstly check their name in the selected/rejected list released by the students. Students who will be selected for the scholarship will be provided the fellowship amount.

INSPIRE Scholarship result 2026 is expected to be released in May/June 2026. An exact date to publish the INSPIRE Scholarship 2026 result has not been announced yet. As soon as it gets published online, we will update the same here.

No, only the students who are enrolled in the Science courses like BSc or BS. Students who are going to take admission in Arts and commerce course are not eligible to apply for INSPIRE scholarship 2026.
