National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research courses are offered to candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates wishing to apply to the PG courses are required to have completed their UG from a recognised university. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply to their desired course and participate in the admission process.

The candidates are selected based on their performance in the entrance examination - NIPER JEE. Basically, the eligibility criteria for M.Pharm is that candidates should have passed B.Pharma/M.S.C with a minimum 60% marks with the following entrance examinations like GATE/NET/GPAT. The courses offered by NIPER Guwahati are M.S., M.Pharm, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in various streams such as Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and others.

D.PharmaCandidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/ Biology subject.
B.PharmaCandidate must have studied Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/Biology subjects with above mentioned marks in the above subjects taken together from any recognised Board/Council.
The mentioned marks of SC/ST and OBC is for the candidate belonging to maharashtra State.
Candidates who are appearing at the qualifying examination are also eligible.
Maharashtra State candidates must have to appear for MHTCET. All India Candidates need to appear for MHTCET/NEET. However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in NEET over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHTCET.
