The MITS INSTITUTE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES (MIPS) is an applied science and research institution that functions under the MITS Group of Institutions in Rayagada, Odisha, India. It was established in 2002 by Basant Devi Charitable Trust as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
The institute is approved by the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha, and is affiliated with Berhampur University (a 52-year-old, reputed university in the state of Odisha).
The M.Sc in Microbiology is a two-year full-time postgraduate self-financed program offered by MITS Group of Institutions at Rayagada, Odisha.
Admission will be based on merit. Merit will be decided by graduation marks. The latest cutoff information for M.Sc.(Microbiology) at MITS is yet to be rolled out by the university, and the expected cutoff is approximately 75 percent based on past year's records.

The placement and internship cell of college is very efficient with their work as they provide almost every student with internships in their area of interest and top recruiting companies also approach the students for campus placement. The students are getting placements. Lot of good companies came and selected the candidates. More than 80 percent are getting placed.
