For all incoming international freshman, there is a merit scholarship available that can be applied for though the OneApp Iowa State website. On the same website, students can find various other scholarships which could differ according to different colleges or different departments. Students can put in filters and find more scholarships but the most common one which all international students can apply for is the international merit scholarship and maintain it throughout their college years.

If you choose to live on campus, you would have to opt for campus dining, used shared bathrooms, may or may not have a kitchen to cook and the fees would be paid along with tuition fees. If you live off campus, there is no mandatory rule to opt for campus food, you could have your own bathroom and bedroom, you would have a kitchen to yourself and the rent would not be in the bill; it would be paid monthly either by yourself/whoever chooses to pay for you.
When you go for on campus housing, you can put your choices and you will be assigned a room but for apartments, you will have to hunt for houses yourself. Either ways, you will h

As an international student, the yearly tuition can go upto $47,261 which is equivalent to 38,75,402 INR. For 4 years of tuition, this can go up to 1-1.5CR. Depending on the scholarships a student can avail and whether they opt to live on campus/off campus, eat dining food or not, these costs vary accordingly.

Top 3 majors are Iowa State for undergraduates are Mechanical Engineering (1660 graduates), Kinesiology and Health (934), Finance (928).
More specifically, usually for male students, Mechanical engineering, finance, and chemical engineering are the most common majors and for female students, kinesiology, animal sciences, and psychology are the top 3 majors.

Indian students choose to study at Iowa State University due to the following reasons:
- Most of the Indian students tend to focus on science, tech, engineering degrees which is famous at Iowa State University.
- There are a lot of scholarship opportunities for international students at ISU as compared to other univesities.
- Students can easily get part time jobs which gives them experience to earn and live by themselves.
- There are a lot of fellow Indians at Iowa State which gives them a sense of inclusivity in a new place.

Housing varies depending on where the student decides to stay. If they want to live in the dorms on campus, the cost would go around $8000-10000 (including food and housing) for one year. Off campus is also around the same price but for off campus apartments, usually the apartments closer to campus tend to be more expensive than the ones further from campus. Shared apartments/apartments with roommates are also usually cheaper than single apartments and this applies for both- on and off campus.

Yes, it is easy for students to find part-time jobs at Iowa State University. There is a student job board on the university portal and students can find various part-time jobs there according to different college, location, summer/semester jobs, or according to different categories such as IT, dining, etc.

Yes, Iowa State is a good university for international students. It offers a welcoming environment, support services, and a diverse campus community. There are a lot of fellow international students and various clubs on campus for students to get involved. There are also different services and events happening for international students through the clubs or the International Student and Scholars Office (ISSO at Iowa State). ISU offers scholarships for these incoming international freshmen too.

The nonrefundable application fee for international undergraduate students is $65 and they do not offer any fee waivers.
