Yes, your son is eligible for IPMAT exam. After completing class 12th board he can give this entrance exam.

Being ad EWS Candidate, can I take a general seat in IPMAT?

Dear aspirant, Even if you score more than the cutoff of General, being an EWS candidate you will be selected as an EWS candidate. There is no provision of selecting an EWS candidate in the General category if he/she scores more than the cutoff of the General category. Hope it helps.

I have 2 set of ear piercing and one set is irremovable would I be allowed to sit for IPMAT.

I totally depends upon your luck that day. Though it is written to the instructions that you should not wear any piece of jewelary but in cases like yours they do allow to sit for the exam. But it is totally depends upon the authorities at your center. You should not take the risk and get it removed
