Yes, JEE Main marks matter when applying to the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT):

Admission options

You can apply for admission to JIIT based on both your 10+2 marks and JEE Main score by filling out separate forms.

Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to JIIT's B.Tech program, you need to have at least 60% aggregate in your 10+2 or equivalent exam.

Program-specific admission

For some programs, like Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, 50% of seats are allotted based on JEE Main rank, and the remaining 50% are allotted based on 10+2 marks.

You might have trouble getting admitted to competitive branches like the CSE at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) Noida if your JEE Mains score was 64 percentile and your CBSE Class 12 score was 70%. Historically higher JEE Mains scores—typically in the 90–95 percentile or more—have been necessary for the admission to the prestigious branches like CSE. However, there may be a chance to get admitted to similar fields like IT or ECE, depending on the cutoff trends, seats available, and counselling rounds for that particular year.

The dates of the entrance exams for JIIT Noida and COEP Pune are not stated clearly in the sources available for 2024, but it is known that JIIT Noida administers its entrance exams for B.Tech. students using either its entrance exam or the JEE Main score. Applications are typically accepted from April to May.

The entrance exam for admission to Pune's B.Tech programme is either JEE Main or MHT CET. After that, the centralized admissions process begins, typically taking place from April to June. For the most up-to-date and accurate information, the sources should consult their own official websites.
