Candidates can calculate their scores in JEE Main exam using the answer key by following the steps given below:
The question paper of JEE Main and responses marked in the exam should be kept ready. Check the responses as marked in the exam with the one given in the answer key of JEE Main by T. I. M.E. Using the official marking scheme of JEE Main calculate the scores as obtained in the exam. I have shared my drive link below which has answer key of JEE Mains 2018

No, it is not mandatory but you should have knowledge of basic maths as some of the applications are important in the course.
