Hello,
Whether a student joins an engineering college as a fresher in first year or directly in second year as lateral admission, the student is going to get same degree. Normally speaking, institutions having authority to award degree and have only engineering stream award B.Tech like IIT's. However, when one studies in a college affiliated to a university that awards degrees in multiple disciplines degree obtained is of BE. Best wishes to you.

1.Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category)2.Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.3.Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc.Stream, shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year Engineering Programme along with the Second year subjects.4.Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc.
