Hello,
Whether a student joins an engineering college as a fresher in first year or directly in second year as lateral admission, the student is going to get same degree. Normally speaking, institutions having authority to award degree and have only engineering stream award B.Tech like IIT's. However, when one studies in a college affiliated to a university that awards degrees in multiple disciplines degree obtained is of BE. Best wishes to you.

1.Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category)2.Passed B.Sc.
