If the IIIT Dharwad student does not pass an internal test: Penalties or other consequences may be applied, e.g. a reduction in the evaluation score or lesser grades. For legitimate reasons such as medical emergencies, it would be possible to provide remedial examinations or reexams. At IIIT Dharwad, CGPA is calculated using a credit-based system. For each course, a credit shall be given on the basis of its grade. Grade points from 10 to 0 shall be used for the assessment of student performance. The SGPA is determined by multiplying the grade points per credit and taking an average. CGPA is the average SGPA over a full semester, taken into account partial and repeated courses subject to institute policies.
