Although plus two and KEAM syllabus are almost the same, however, some extra effort must be put to prepare for KEAM exam. Candidates can refer to the KEAM previous year question papers and follow the KEAM syllabus to prepare for the exam alongwith the plus two exam preparations.

The important topics from KEAM syllabus, as per previous year analysis are:
- Physics: Mechanics, waves. Less weightage from electrostatics, and optics.
- Chemistry: IUPAC, organic, moderate weightage for inorganic.
- Maths: 3d, vectors and complex.

The type of questions asked in KEAM are MCQs - Multiple Choice Questions. Questions are of plus 2 level and are from the KEAM syllabus prescribed by the CEE.

There were changes made to the KEAM syllabus in 2024. Candidates can download the KEAM revised syllabus from the official website, cee.kerala.gov.in, which is to be followed in 2026 too.

For the KEAM entrance exam for engineering courses, candidates have to study Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For candidates appearing for KEAM BPharm, candidates have to study Physics and Chemistry only.

Candidates are advised to keep the copy of their KEAM admit cad until the admission process is over. Candidates should keep the KEAM admit card safe until the counselling and all document verification at the institutes where candidate is taking admission is complete.

No. The KEAM exam is held in computer based test mode and after the exam, candidates will not be given any hardcopy of the questions asked in the exam. However, the official question papers are uploaded on the official website, cee.kerala.gov.in after the exam is over in all shifts. Candidates can access the official website and download and save the KEAM question paper PDF.

Once the KEAM admit card is released, candidates cannot change their allotted exam centre. There is no provision for altering the test centre at any stage, making it crucial to carefully select test cities when filling out the KEAM application form. It is advisable to choose a city that is either your hometown, a city you are likely to be in on the exam day, or a nearby city where you can reach easily. To increase the chances of getting the preferred test city, candidates should submit their application as early as possible. Contact the CEE immediately to get it corrected. Students should carefully examine the entries on the KEAM admit card and in case of any discrepancy, they should contact the CEE. Also, in case of any problem in downloading the admit card, the student should immediately contact the CEE. A printout of the downloaded KEAM admit card and a valid original photo identity card (any one of the following: Aadhaar Card, School/College/Institute ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, Notarized Certificate with photograph) must be produced at the time of examination, without which, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the ex
