The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in Kottayam is considered a good college for mass communication students. It offers postgraduate courses in English and Malayalam journalism. 

IIMC has been ranked India's top media institute by Outlook, IndiaToday, and The Week-Hansa from 2018 to 2022. The college's courses have a good reputation, and its students often pursue careers at major media organizations. 

In 2019, IIMC established a permanent Southern Regional Campus in Pampady, about 12 kilometers from Kottayam. The campus is set on 10 acres of scenic, green land.

IIMC Dhenkanal and IIMC Kottayam both are reputable institutions for mass communication education. It is difficult to compare these institute as both are good in their own domain. However, here are few differences between the two:

  1. PLACEMENTS: IIMC Dhenkanal is known for its strong placement records, with almost 70 to 80 percent students being placed every year from the institute.

They both provide Masters in Journalism and mass media. 
Both are outstanding institutions with good placements offers.

The IIMC Dhenkanal offers good placement with 80-90% of students being placed and many big recruiters provides good opportunities over here .

The IIMC Kottayam holds good position in the placement and the education provided here is at a great level and the opportunities are also good here.
