The minimum eligibility criteria required by the university to get admissions into BSc courses is candidates must complete their Class 12 from Science stream (PCB/ PCM). In addition, for admission to some of the BSc specialisation, candidates from any stream can apply. Candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved categories). Moreover, for admission, the university releases the merit of selected candidates after evaluating candidates' achieved scores in higher senior secondary/ Class 12.

Admissions to the Kumaun University BA are merit-based. Candidates must have Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 40% to 50% marks from a recognised board. Eligible candidates can apply directly through the official website of the university. For the admission process, the university releases the merit on the basis of candidates' achieved scores in Class 12 or equivalent.

Kumaun University BA scholarships are offered by the University, UGC as and various departments of the Government.
