Generally speaking, the length of an SOP must be between 800 to 1200 words. This is also applied to the SOP for law. You can follow this length if the university has not mentioned otherwise through their specific guidelines for the law program. Also, keep the correct, and unified format throughout the SOP. The font should be 11 points, preferably Times New Roman.

Before beginning to write, collect your thoughts, your experiences so far, your learnings from them, and how these incidents of your academic, and professional life inspired you to pursue this particular law degree. The introduction of SOP for law students must show the inspiration to pursue the applied law degree through impactful academic, and professional life events.

The SOP for law is a document containing your reasons for choosing to pursue law, and how the desired law course is important for your career progression. This document is your comprehensive proposal to the admissions committee (Ad Com), conveying your previous experiences, acumen, skills, aspirations, motivations, and inspirations. It is a statement about your past academic, and professional engagements, justifying your credibility for the law school's programme to the Ad Com.
