TSLAWCET 2023: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) is accepting online applications for TS LAWCET 2023 till April 6 without late fee. The application forms for 5-yr LLB and 3-yr LLB course offered through TS LAWCET 2023 are available at lawcet.tsche.ac.in. TS LAWCET 2023 admission notification was published on March 1, and the application form were available from March 2 onwards. TS LAWCET 2023 entrance exam for both courses will be held on the same day i.e. May 25, 2023. It will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test mode from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. The question paper will carry objective-type questions based on GK, Current Affairs, Aptitude for Study of Law, and Mental Ability. What is TS LAWCET?

TS LAWCET is a state-level law entrance exam conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Hyderabad. The law entrance exam is conducted for admission to five-year integrated LLB courses and three-year LLB courses offered at Telangana state universities and colleges. The mode of examination is Computer-Based Test mode, and the total duration is 90 minutes.

TS LAWCET Application Form 2023 

TSCHE has released the online application form of TS LAWCET 2023 from March 2 onwards. The candidate can apply for TS LAWCET 2023 - 1) without late fees, or 2) with late fees, which can range from INR 500 to 4,000. The last date of application for TS LAWCET 2023 is April 6 without late fee. The TS LAWCET 2023 application form is available in online mode and could be filled by candidates using correct and verifiable data. 

Steps to fill the TS LAWCET 2023 application form

  1. Registration and payment of application fee - The application fee can be paid in online mode through the application portal or the candidate may visit a TS/AP Online Centre and pay the fee. To pay the fee at the online center, the candidate will need the admit card of the qualifying exam. The application fee is INR 800 for OPEN, and INR 500 for SC/ST/PH candidates. 
  2. Fill out the form - Next, the candidate has to log in and fill in their personal, academic, and contact details. The candidate also has to select an exam center. 
  3. Upload documents - Photograph and signature have to be uploaded in the prescribed format.
  4. Submit the form - Check that the application is duly filled in before pressing the submit button.

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2023

The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria for TS LAWCET will only be able to apply and secure admission at the law colleges. Check below eligibility criteria for respective courses offered through TS LAWCET 2023:

Five-Year LLB Course: 

  • Candidates must have qualified (or appearing in the final year examination) class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board of education. 
  • They must have secured 45% marks (42% marks for OBC category, and 40% marks for SC/ST categories) in aggregate of all subjects. 
  • There is no age limit for TS LAWCET 2023 five-year LLB course.

Three-Year LLB Course: 

  • Candidates must have qualified (or appearing in the final year examination) graduation degree or equivalent examination from a recognised college or university. 
  • They must have secured 45% marks (42% marks for OBC category, and 40% marks for SC/ST categories) in aggregate of all subjects. 
  • There is no age limit for TS LAWCET 2023 three-year LLB course as well.

TS LAWCET 2023 Admission Process

The entire admission process through TS LAWCET 2023 is as under: 

 

Step 1: Online application - Candidates first need to apply for TS LAWCET 2023 in online mode. The application form will be available on the official website of TSCHE.

Step 2: Download admit card - Candidates who will apply for TS LAWCET 2023 successfully before the last date will be issued admit cards. They need to get the printouts of the admit card on A4 sheets to carry on the exam day.

Step 3: Appear for TS LAWCET 2023- Candidates have to appear for TSLAWCET 2023 as per the exam schedule. The entrance exam will be held in a Computer-based test mode and will be of 1 hour 30 minutes duration. 

Step 4: Declaration of results - TSCHE will declare the results within a month of conducting the examination. Before the announcement of results, TSCHE will publish the question paper and answer keys. Candidates would be able to verify their answers as well as, raise objections on the answer key in case of discrepancy (if any). The exam authority will then verify the objections and publish a revised answer key along with the results. Candidates who will qualify as per the criteria will be allotted ranks in the merit list for further shortlisting process.  

Step 5: Counselling and seat allotment - The counseling will be conducted on the basis of The TS LAWCET 2023 merit list. The counseling process will first begin with a web-option filling entry where shortlisted candidates need to pick their choice of colleges. A provisional seat allotment process will be issued based on candidate choices and merit rank. Allotted candidates have to report to their allotted college for completing admission fatalities.

TS LAWCET Admit Card 2023

The admit card-cum-hall ticket of TS LAWCET 2023 will be issued to all candidates who successfully complete the application process. An important document for sitting in the exam, the admit card will carry important information like the date and time of the TS LAWCET 2023 exam, roll number, and name and address of the allotted exam center. On exam-day, the candidate must bring with them a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card.

TS LAWCET 2023 - Exam-day guidelines

The candidate needs to report at the exam center as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. The exam will be conducted in online mode, so the candidate has to be conversant with using a computer system and with the navigation process. It may be noted that using unfair practices like cheating can lead to disqualification. Also, given that COVID-19 pandemic isn't over yet, the candidate must wear masks and carry sanitizers with them.

TS LAWCET Counselling 2023

TS LAWCET 2023 counseling will be conducted in an online mode, wherein candidates who have qualified in the TS LAWCET 2023 can participate in the counseling process. The counseling process is explained in brief below:

  1. Registration - Eligible candidates need to register for counseling at https://lawcetadm.tsche.ac.in/ 
  2. Verification of documents - The verification of documents will be conducted at designated counseling centers and will be done merit-rank-wise.
  3. Display of registered candidates - Post verification of documents, the list of shortlisted candidates will be published.
  4. Exercise of web options - The candidate in this step has to pick their choice of colleges. 
  5. Seat allotment - The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of 1) the merit rank of the candidate and 2) the options picked at the time of choice filling.
  6. Reporting at the allotted college - Candidates who have been allotted seats need to report at the allotted institute and confirm their seats.

TS LAWCET Cut-off 2023

Candidates belonging to General/ Open need to secure a minimum of 42 marks (or 35% marks) to qualify in the TS LAWCET 2023 exam. Note that only such candidates who secure the prescribed minimum marks (or qualify in the exam) will be eligible to participate in the counseling process. In the case of SC/ST/PwD candidates, no minimum marks have been prescribed. So, candidates from these categories can sit in TS LAWCET 2023 counseling irrespective of their marks in the entrance exam.

The qualifying cutoff is however not the admission cut-off, which is in fact the last rank for which candidate gets admission to the 3-year or 5-year LLB program in their respective category. The TS LAWCET 2023 admission cut-off will be prepared by considering the following parameters:
