Both institutes are the oldest and among the best universities in Germany. Getting into any one of them is a matter of pride. The QS World University Rankings 2024 ranked Heidelberg University and LMU Munich #87 and #54 respectively. Both universities are the oldest in Germany.

There is no application fee for Ludwig Maximillian University. If an international student fulfils all the prerequisites for studying at LMU Munich then he/she can start the application process. International students generally need to submit their application to the International Office. However, in certain cases they will need to apply to the Office of the University Registrar of the Foundation for University Admission.

The Ludwig Maximilians University Munich acceptance rate is not published by the university on its official website. However, some unofficial website claim that LMU’s acceptance rate is 10%. Which makes it one of the hardest universities to get into. Each year thousands of students from all over Germany and around the world apply at LMU. The Ludwig Maximillian University is very popular among Indian students. LMU has a huge population of Indian students.

Hello Rakesh, In all German universities, there are two forms of acceptance to the general majors. The first form is majors with restricted acceptance Beschrnkte Studiengnge, which means that the number of applicants is much more than the available places for this particular course at the university. In that type, not all applicants will be admitted to study their desired course at the university. The second form is majors with non-restricted acceptance Unbeschrnkte Studiengnge which means that the number of available places to study at the desired course is way more than the number of applicants so all students will be admitted to stu

For your Bachelor's degree at LMU-Munich, you need not study for a year in your home country. You will however need to be proficient in German, and fulfill their criteria which varies with their courses. All the best.
