It is well known globally for research-focused programs in fields like Humanities, Economics and Life Sciences.

The Technical University of Munich is charging tuition fees from Indian students to improve the on-campus infras, expand support services, and upgrade teaching quality.

The permission for the same was granted by the Free State of Bavaria as part of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHIG).

There is not much between them in terms of national level rankings as TUM ranks #1 in Germany while Ludwig Maximilian Uni ranks #2.

TUM is generally better for Indian students seeking a career in engineering, technology, and robotics. LMU Munich is usually better for Medicine, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences.

TUM however, maintains stronger ties across industries with companies like BMW, Google, SAP, and Siemens.

Student dorms are better for Indian students at TUM Germany. Dorms are more affordable, offer easy access to campus, and are better for socialising with peers. Private apartments do offer more freedom, but are also more expensive.

Yes, TUM Munich penalises students for late payment of tuition or semester fees, usually by automatic disenrollment (Exmatrikulation).

This means students end up losing their status, and won't be allowed to attend classes, exams, or obtain student discounts in Germany.

Yes, students can study at LMU Munich without learning German. There are several English-taught courses that only require valid scores in English language tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Having a basic understanding of German is advised to Indian students as it can boost the chances of getting part-time jobs in Germany.
