M.Sc Microbiology

Since you are asking this question to us to give our preference, first of all I will say that you must check the job availability in both the courses, then think of taking the course. But, for me, I will say that it will be better to take Industrial Microbiology, because you know day by day technology is developing and, thus there will be high requirement of researchers based on industrial microbiology, though both the fields are based on research studies and they generally give emphasis on that only. So, there is a need of microbiologists in almost every nation. I don't think it will harm you, if you pursue M.Sc. programme in Industrial Microbiology.

At present, the scientific, analytical and problem-solving skills developed by microbiology graduates are high in demand by employers. There are various options available to you after studying for a microbiology degree. You can choose to stay in education & do a Master's degree or Ph.D. in microbiology. Whether you can decide to enter the job market after graduation degree. You can work in both governments as well as in private sectors. Microbiologists are mostly demanded in the UK, US, France, Australia, and Germany. With a degree in microbiology, you can get opportunities in various fields like healthcare organizations, forensic Science laboratories, environmental organizations, higher education institutions, food and drink, publicly funded research organizations, pharmaceuticals and many other industries.

By pursuing a Master's degree you can get a job in pharmaceutical companies, food and dairy industries as a quality control employer, medical coder and the status increases with experience. Usually the payments are higher in pharma companies starting from 2530k. Salary of a Quality control manager reaches upto 3045 lakhs per annum. You can work as a college temporary teacher, researcher and as a lab assistant after your M.Sc programme. (Starting from 1520k). The place can be occupied as permanent by clearing NET exam (40kafter permanent). After qualifying CSIR NET exam when you get enrolled in any CSIR institute for Ph.D. You get a fellowship of 25k per month. You have many more opportunities if you do specialisation in a particular subject such as medical microbiology, clinical microbiology, immunology and geomicrobiology.
