No, CUSAT (Cochin University of Science and Technology) does not admit students solely through the CAT (Common Admission Test). For most undergraduate programs, CUSAT conducts its own entrance exam called the CUSAT-CAT. However, for some courses like MBA, admissions are based on the CAT scores, while other courses may consider various eligibility criteria, including marks in qualifying exams and performance in university-specific entrance tests.

For the M.Sc. in Microbiology program, admissions for the 2024 session are generally based on the merit of your undergraduate marks. Many universities, including VIT, do not require an entrance exam for this course, with selection based on your UG performance. For example, VIT's admission process is driven by UG results, and the online application forms will be available from January 29, 2024. The final selection will depend on the cut-off and availability of seats.

Every department, has an interview in Loyola. The cut-off marks is 45–55 is sufficient, but they look at your calibre to the particular subject you're opting for. Good marks are always an advantage, for the getting through any place where you'll be regarded well. But Loyola is an institution which creates new personalities. Every year thousands of application are received for each group or subject but depends on how you genuine to outsmart the other.
