According to the MSBSHSE board, you need to score 35 percent in order to pass the Maharashtra SSC exam. The Maharashtra SSC exam is equivalent to the CBSE Class 10 level. To pass the SSC exam, you must score at least 35% on both the theory and practical papers. You will be deemed unsuccessful and required to take the Supplementary Exam if your score is less than 35%. The passing grade is between 35% and 44%, and above this score, you get a grade as follows:
1. A score of 45% to 59% is considered second division.
2. A 60% and above is considered first division.
3. If your score is above 75%, you get a distinction.

The Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination is held twice a year by Maharashtra HSC. For students who are not satisfied with their results or who have failed one or more subjects, the Maharashtra State Board conducts improvement exams after declaring the results. In response to your query, if you have not already enrolled in college, you may skip the exam. However, you are firmly advised to appear for the improvement examination in July itself, as failing to do so may cause a delay in improved results and additional delays in continuing on to higher studies.
