You have to appear for jee mains examination. and then if u can clear cut off marks and after the 60-40 stimulation formula which will not be regulated after 2017 . If u get ur rank in under 15k gen category and for other obc and hc/st category.u can browse the cutoff rank for different NITs on https://shiksha.com. You also have to go through a counselling procedure for admission in NIT. CSAB conducts the counselling.
it is done in 4 rounds 1st and 2nd and 3rd round are done with filling of choices and simultaneously give the colleges according to the choice filled.
in the forth round of counselling u have to again fill the choice where
