To be considered for admission to the University of Maryland, students should aim for a GPA greater than 4.45, as the average high school GPA for Fall 2022 applications was 4.47. The average GPA has improved since Fall 2020; that is, admissions to UMD in Fall 2020 had an average GPA of 4.36, whereas in Fall 2021, admissions had an average GPA of 4.39. Additionally, approximately 4,560 students in the fall of 2022 opted to submit their ACT or SAT results for application consideration rather than their GPAs.
