5. Mathematical Skills: The syllabus of this section includes elementary mathematics, the Number System complex numbers, sequences, series, Triangles set theory, and geometry.

Both the KMAT and MAT exams are conducted for admission to management courses. These exams differ in the following ways:
1. The KMAT score is mostly accepted in Karnataka management colleges, whereas the MAT score is accepted in more than 800 management colleges.
2. The KMAT is conducted once a year, whereas the MAT is conducted four times a year.
3. The KMAT is comparably tougher than the MAT. The MAT exam is more convenient to take as it is available in three modes.
4. In contrast to MAT scores, KMAT enables qualified students to request a fee waiver in their designated B school.
5. The KMAT registration fee is lower than MAT. The KMAT registration fee is Rs. 800, whereas the MAT fee is Rs. 1850.
6. The MAT has a 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers, whereas the KMAT has no negative marking.
