Admission for the MBA Marketing Management course at MGM Institute of Management and Research has more options; these include CAT scores as well as scores from national-level entrance exams such as MAT, XAT, CMAT, and ATMA. Admission seeking students require a bachelor's degree with marks not below 50%. Then, group discussion and personal interview are included in the selection process and it tests the aptitude of a candidate towards management studies. Therefore, whereas CAT is in greater importance and consideration, it is not an only way to enter the institution.

There are generally high cutoff marks for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) Law, for admission at Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College.
The required score for first round and last round was 98.1 and 96.18 respectively for B.A.LL.B.
With this type of score required, it is very difficult to secure admission at the institute.
