With a NEET score of 397, it can be difficult to get a seat for MBBS in Tamil Nadu, particularly in government medical colleges, since the cutoffs for MBBS are generally higher. For government colleges, the cutoff is generally around 450–550 marks based on the category and the competition of the year.

Under the state government quota for PG MD government seats in Tamil Nadu only medical graduates from Tamil Nadu education institutes are permitted to apply. Students from other state institutions remain ineligible to participate. 
Key points to remember:
Candidates need to finish their MBBS training at any institution within Tamil Nadu before qualifying for Tamil Nadu government quota PG MD seat admission. 
A "Certificate of Nativity of Tamil Nadu" enables you to become eligible when your MBBS training occurred outside the state.

With 550+ in obc you can get a government medical college.

Expected cutoff score for SC/ST/OBC in 2024 is 665-93.

Cutoff score in 2023 was 116-93

MGR University usually concludes the application process for all its courses between June and August.
