Yes, MDS graduates have excellent opportunities in both research and teaching. With specialization, they can work in dental colleges as lecturers or professors, contributing to academic training for future dentists.

In addition, MDS professionals can join research projects in pharmaceutical companies, dental material industries, and healthcare institutions. This dual scope allows graduates to contribute both scientifically and academically, beyond clinical practice.

Clinical MDS specializations like Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Surgery involve direct patient care, procedures, and surgical or restorative work. These branches focus on diagnosis, treatment, and improving dental health outcomes.

Non-clinical specializations such as Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, and Public Health Dentistry emphasize research, diagnostics, and community services. They are ideal for those interested in academics, labs, and public health rather than routine patient treatment.

There is generally no upper age limit for pursuing MDS in India. As long as the candidate has a valid BDS degree, completed a one-year internship, and meets the NEET MDS eligibility requirements, they can apply.

Most candidates pursue MDS right after BDS, but many dentists also join later in their careers to specialize. Hence, age is not a barrier for admission to MDS programs.

Dermatology and Radiology both are different streams so their fee varies from college to college and university to University. If we talk about management quota for derma then it ranges 80 Lacs to 1.25 crore depending on the college or university you choose and the seat type you choose.

On the other hand if we talk about radiology management quota then it starts from 49 Lacs approximately and goes higher upto 2.5 crores if you choose different colleges or universities.

However the base fee of the derma is 10 Lacs and 30 Lacs for the radiology and rest depends on the factors like location, reputation and institution type
