Yes, there are scholarships other than meritorious scholarships at GITAM Visakhapatnam. Apart from the above, the following scholarships are also offered to eligible students.
- Employee children scholarships (60%, 40%, and 20%)
- Loyalty Scholarships (10% for Any alumni returning to do higher studies /Children of Alumni / Real siblings (Not applicable to step siblings or cousins)/ Children of retired employees of GITAM/Spouse of GITAM employees).
- Sports Scholarships (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 15%)

Admission criteria to DU School of Open Learning is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams for a few courses. However, the eligibility criteria to get into PG programmes is graduation in any discipline (this may vary from course to course), along with entrance exams for a few courses.

No. The Tier 1 marks for the SSC CGL are not used in the preparation of the final merit list. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates are shortlisted for Tier 2 exam. However, the final selection and ranking is based on the marks obtained in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
